PROTECTION OF PERSONAL INFORMATION
Kanamouche has implemented this policy and practices governing the governance of personal information to comply with the new rules surrounding consent to the collection, disclosure or use of personal information.
We ensure that we comply with the new information and transparency obligations towards our employees, members, suppliers, and all our business partners.
Any changes to this policy will be shared on our website (see the date of update at the end of this document). Should we change our practices, we will ensure that we obtain the consent of the parties concerned, where necessary, for the collection, use or disclosure of any personal information.
We now collect, use, disclose and retain personal information only as strictly necessary, and only after obtaining the consent of the individuals or organizations concerned, in accordance with the Act respecting the protection of personal information in the private sector.
It is possible to refuse to provide certain personal information; However, some of these may be necessary in order for us to do business with you or your organization. The same goes for individuals: certain personal information are necessary to allow us to hire you, on a one-time or recurring basis.
Our website does not have "cookies", so a visit by you to our site does not allow us to collect information about you or your company.
The data collected is stored in our accounting system only, which is only accessible by the management and the person in charge of reception.
The personal information collected is destroyed when the purpose for which it was collected has been fulfilled, if we remain able to comply with the conditions and retention period provided for by law.
We have designated a person responsible for the protection of personal information. Their contact details are listed below.
Any person or organization wishing to verify the personal information we hold about them may send us a written request so that we can provide them with it in a timely manner.
In the event of a privacy incident involving personal information:
- we take reasonable steps to reduce the risk of harm to affected individuals and to prevent similar incidents from occurring in the future.
- notify the Commission and the individual if the incident poses a risk of serious harm.
- we maintain a record of incidents, a copy of which must be forwarded to the Commission upon request.
- Comply with the new framework for the communication of personal information without the consent of the person concerned for the purposes of study, research or statistical production and in the context of a commercial transaction.
- Conduct a privacy impact assessment before disclosing personal information without consent for study, research, or statistical purposes.
- If we ever have access to this type of technology, we will disclose to the Commission in advance the verification or confirmation of identity made by means of biometric characteristics or measures.
